Hi, everyone!  Welcome to my blog where I talk about my ongoing Slimming World and associated health journeys.  At present, I am working to reduce my 'bad' cholesterol through diet.

What I ate today:

A pear, two plums and an orange with mixed seeds; the yogurt and chia seeds are under the fruit.

One syn for chia seeds and one syn for mixed seeds.

Turkey thigh is a brown meat, of course, and I heated it up in the gravy.  Absolutely delicious and I have loads left for several other meals.

One syn for the gravy and I am saying half for the cranberry sauce as it used sweetener.

And that's where it ends because I fell for some Christmas cake and then didn't want anything else.  So not on plan and not healthy but I reckon the calories are pretty OK, given that I had nearly all the syns as well as my healthy extras.
Could have been a lot worse.
Tomorrow's plans:
Plenty of left over turkey thigh for tomorrow.

B:  fruit, seeds and yogurt

L:  hummus, turkey and salad wrap, side salad; fruit

D:  turkey and veg pasta bake, side salad; fruit

Exercise:  probably just at home, no circuits

  1. Can’t say that I’ve ever fallen for Christmas cake but I can get pretty besotted when faced with a handsome raspberry roulade/tiramisu/key lime pie/ trifle!
However, I was shocked about 18 months ago to find that my cholesterol was too high so I now have a low dose statin. If it continues to fall (it’s a very slow process) I may be able to cut out the statin later on.

    1. I fall for a lot of things . . . mostly I just keep them away from me. The cake was really nice. Maybe syns don't count if you made it yourself? lol
Fingers crossed that you can discontinue the meds. I do hope so. xx

  2. I feel sluggish when I eat too much ‘wrong’ stuff. So I really do try to eat healthily most of the time.
It’s quite hard though, isn’t it even when healthy food can be delicious - just so much temptation.

    1. It can be, for sure. I put that down to the rather addictive nature of stuff that is, frankly, over-processed. It's not a great feeling but it still calls to us to have more, and more, and more.
I try to focus as much on how I feel as what I can taste and smell. Doesn't always work but it does often enough to make a difference.
Christmas is hard though - all that FOMO with the special foods!
      xx
