Friday, 11-04-25 and a few Easter strategies

Hi, everyone!  Welcome to my blog where I talk about my ongoing Slimming World and associated health journeys.  I have managed to reduce my 'bad' cholesterol by eating according to Mediterranean principles and now I want to maintain this.

It was weigh day today, being Friday, and I was very happy that the scales said a maintain.   OK, so there's not much of a buffer there yet but I'm in my target bubble (just) and intend to remain there - it's a range of seven pounds so sensibly flexible.
I've been thinking about managing Easter and decided that Easter won't start until after weigh in next Friday.

Then:
I have a few home made hot cross buns and intend to have one each day (and syn it)
I plan to treat myself to one nice Easter egg and have a bit each day over the Easter weekend and then no more until after weigh in the following week.
I will roast another of the lamb joints I have in the freezer for Easter Sunday but that will be SW friendly so that's OK.  There will be leftovers!

Them's the plans.  Whether I stick to them remains to be seen -  please send vibes, etc.  Thanks.

Please pretend this was posted yesterday evening - I was too tired to get it finished and published but most of it was written yesterday.

What I have eaten today.

This is what I got out for breakfast after SW plus the daily little bottle of cholesterol busting Benecol (or Morrisons cheaper equivalent and which I don't ever count).
I ended up leaving the apple and one of the easy peelers because I felt quite full.
Syn free

Lunch was proper off plan.  I went out for a late Mothers' Day lunch with Beth and Alex and had a chicken and bacon ciabatta sandwich with fries and something optimistically called a 'salad'.
It was all very nice.  No idea of syns but the calories were high, just under 900.  But I'm not fussed.
I  just had a coffee while Beth and Alex had dessert - I just had no room for one.
No photo.

And, sadly, I went totally off course in the evening.  I wasn't hungry and I was tired - bad combo - and munched my way through a bag of nuts washed down with some merlot instead of something light and sustaining like a small Greek salad.  OK, so red wine is considered marginally more healthy and nuts - raw nuts - may be very calorific but they are heart healthy but even so . . .
Again, no photo.
Not to worry, back on it tomorrow and I have a really good day's eating planned.

Tomorrow's meal plans:

B:  omelette with seeds, mushrooms and tomatoes and leaves on the side

L:  Greek salad
(leaves, other salad ingredients, bulgur wheat or maybe couscous, capers, olives, maybe feta, beans, mixed seeds, dressing

D:  egg and avocado on toast, tomato salad; fruit

Exercise:   a Lindsey video on YouTube
