Good morning.
One pound off last night. Disappointing but I guess Christmas Tree Day did some damage. I have a fairly uncomplicated week ahead of me so I can go all out to stay on plan this week in hopes for a better loss next week. Having said that, a pound off is a pound off, isn't it? Much better than on and better than maintain.
I'm working to keep the motivation high. To a certain degree, it doesn't matter. I'm fitting into all my clothes, including the jeans and jeggings, I can wear all my Christmas jumpers this year (a target after I couldn't last year) and, somehow, there isn't the same urgency as there was after last Christmas when I hadn't lost the holiday gain and, indeed, gained a whole lot more.
So - holding on to the motivation I still have and looking around for any more, hence trying out some new recipes today. That always helps.
This is the only photo I have of yesterday. Bacon and some leftover baked beans for breakfast, on one of my random Christmas plates.
I had lunch all thawed and ready but I was all churned up because of a dental appointment (I have a bit of a thing about dentists visits) and didn't want it. By the time I got home, it was too close to group to want to eat anything. When I got home, I enjoyed my steak and chips very much but forgot about photos.
Today's plans are . . .
B: overnight oats
. . . using fruit from the freezer and gingerbread yogurt. Nice
SW: one healthy extra B, half an A (milk) and half a syn
L: spicy tomato and sweet potato soup, grated cheese; fruit
Yesterday's planned lunch - I really can't waste it.
SW: one healthy extra A
D: Slow cooker pulled pork, parsnip and sweet potato chips, broccoli; fruit sorbet
A bit of a try out day. I bought a pork shoulder yesterday to try a recipe for pulled pork i found on the wonderful Slimming Eats site. Here's the link - scroll down past all those seemingly endless adverts top get to the recipe.
http://www.slimmingeats.com/blog/slow-cooker-pulled-porkIt looks like a very long list of ingredients but I do have everything in so I'll give it a whirl.
The fruit sorbet is a Thermomix recipe and can be found on Cookidoo. For those of you who can access Cookidoo, here's the link.
https://cookidoo.co.uk/recipes/recipe/en-GB/r549321I'll be using a mixture of fruit from the freezer - it seems a good way to use up bits and bobs - and will freeze it in portions as I think it will go pretty solid. If I use 50g sugar, it will come to ten syns the lot, which seems OK.
SW: The whole pulled pork recipe comes to five syns (liquid smoke and maple syrup) so I'm saying one and a half syns for safety! The whole sorbet recipe is ten syns so let's call it two and a half syns, assuming it makes four portions.
Body Magic: step and balance.
Summary: two healthy extra As, one B and four and a half syns - it doesn't seem much for what looks like a very delicious day but I think I've worked it out OK. The other half A is for milk in my tea.
I'm not a tea drinker, much preferring coffee, but have discovered Yorkshire tea biscuit brew and my afternoons are now not complete without a cuppa or two. I think it's gorgeous. I now want to try the toast and jam flavour brew but don't seem to be able to get that for love or money! Even Amazon doesn't have it in.
I am only maintaining just lately. Not too worried though and come the New year and we have eaten all the Christmas goodies I will get back on track. Until then I shall just enjoy the festive season without feeling guilty.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking through this one and totally agree. However, I don't want the foody season to start quite as early as this. :-)
