Friday, 28-04-23

Morning, everyone.
Group today and after that, I will be driving off for a fitness and fun weekend at Potters, Five Lakes.  Lindsey has organised a group weekend - about forty of us, I think - and will be running classes for us all.
I'll post what classes she will be delivering down below.
It's all inclusive at Five Lakes so there will be temptations but the exercise should keep things in check.

The next post will be Monday once I am home again. so I will edit this post later on to give the weigh in results.  Maintaining would be nice after Sunday's overload!

LATER EDIT:  I was very happy with a half pound loss at group this morning.  Phew!

Yesterday's photos:

A nice, simple breakfast, very sweet and juicy.  I'd already had a banana before SET class.
The Prezzo leftovers with a salad - there was more but I forgot to take a photo until half way through!!
I had an orange for afters.
The zingy chicken traybake for dinner was really tasty.  The recipe is on the SW site and in other sites too.
I had no room for anything else so that was the end of the eating window¬

Today's plans:  A two meal day because of travelling, etc.

Brunch:  a cooked breakfast really - bacon, egg, spray fried bread, tomatoes and mushrooms, enough to keep me going for a while.

D:  not known

Ex:  See below.  I'm not sure about the power walk but I will probably do the Energiser class.

Summary:
Not known today.

Here's Lindsey's programme of stuff:

I won't go to them all, probably, and there's a variety of Potters based classes too as part of their own programme of entertainment, so I will be well exercised and will probably need a couple of days to chill and recover afterwards.
I bet I will sleep well!

Thursday 27 April 2023

Thursday, 27-04-23

Morning, everyone.

A real non-scale victory yesterday - I'm back into Primark small/size 10 clothes again.  Not nearly but really.  Woo hoo!

Yesterday's photos:

Strawberries and blueberries for breakfast plus I had a little bit of yogurt left so finished that off.

Lunch was what I had planned, penne arrabiata with chicken (I brought half home) and Beth and I shared some olives.
It was all really nice.  No photo though.
Dinner was a cheese and onion toastie with some tomatoes and beetroot.

Today's plans:

B:  fruit and yogurt
I'll have a banana before SET and the rest at the usual time.
SW:  syn free

L:  Leftovers from Prezzo, side salad; fruit
I love a doggy bag, don't you?  I have estimated the syns based on how much of the original bowlful I have for today and I'll add some cheese for a bit more yumminess.
SW:  one healthy extra A and two syns

D:  zingy chicken tray bake
I had this last week and it was really very tasty so, as I have lemons to use up, I will have it again!
I will have to put together some all purpose seasoning as I don't have any - last ime I just used salt, pepper and garlic granules.  Not to worry, there's a simple recipe available:  https://www.thedinnerbite.com/all-purpose-seasoning-blend/
I'll use whatever I have in the way of vegetables.
SW:  the recipe tells me it is half a syn so that's what I will go with, plus half a syn for yogurt.

Ex:  a SET class today

Summary:
one healthy extra A
no healthy extra B
three syns

Wednesday 26 April 2023

Wednesday, 26-04-23

Morning, everyone.

Yesterday's photos:

An easily prepared breakfast but really filling all the same, surprising as it was so very low calorie (around 100, would you believe).

I had already had a banana to see me through Groove.
The meatballs are pretty hidden by the cheese in the photo and the roasted veg was squash, sweet potato, onion, peppers, tomatoes and mushrooms.

Later on I had some fruit and a couple of birthday choccies (which I synned) and I was still well under syns.
I've never had tonkatsu sauce - in fact I've never heard of it, have you?  When I looked at the ingredients (ketchup, Hendersons, soy sauce and sweetener), I wasn't sure, but it really was lovely.  I think it would also be nice with chicken or with salmon or in a wrap or pitta as the sauce.

No room for the yogurt for dessert.

Today's plans:

B:  fruit
Something light because I'm eating out at lunchtime.  I have all the usual stuff - strawberries, blueberries, apples, oranges and pears plus frozen fruit, so I can get a nice concoction together.
SW:  syn free

L:  Prezzo with Beth
There's a fairly comprehensive list of Prezzo/SW values on the SW site.  I will most likely have
- marinated olives (5 syns and I might share them with Beth)
- penne arabbiata (4.5 syns) - I've had this before and not only is it delicious, it is also a big portion, especially when chicken is added, and I can bring some home for another day.
We're going there because I have a two for one mains voucher.
SW:  around ten syns, less if we share olives, even less if I give the olives a miss.

D:   cheese and onion toastie, salad; yogurt
Something nice and easy as I'll likely be tired after shopping.
SW:  one healthy extra A, one B and one and a half syns for chutney plus half a syn for yogurt

Ex:  Circuits

Summary:
one healthy extra A
one healthy extra B
twelve syns max, probably less

Tuesday 25 April 2023

Tuesday, 25-04-23

Morning, everyone.

Yesterday's photos:

I decided I didn't really want any more than nice, fresh fruit for breakfast so that's what I had.  Plums, grapes and strawberries and they were so refreshing.

I'll have pancakes another day.
I know it looks like breakfast but this was my lunch.
The home made hash brown was lovely.
I had the fruit later in the afternoon as a snack.

To make the hash brown I softened some chopped onion is the microwave and added it to a small, grated potato (skin and all), a bit of leftover grated cheese, some garlic granules, salt and pepper and a little bit of beaten egg (I used the rest to egg-and-breadcrumb the chicken for dinner).
I lined a small baking tray, spread ther mix over the parchment and baked it in Nellie, 15 mins, turn over, ten mins.
It was perfectly cooked through and I had the lot.
Again, this was perfect and just what I wanted.  A breaded chicken sizzler, a very simple mushroom sauce and a big old choppy salad.
I had a yogurt for afters.

The sauce was just some frozen mushrooms (no fresh ones left), softened in spray oil, and a bit of Seriously lighter spreadable cheese melted in.  No salt needed, just a bit of pepper.

Today's plans:

B:  ham, tomatoes and mushrooms
I have ham to use up from the Sunday tea which I will just warm up in the pan
SW:  syn free

L:  meatballs with roasted veg; fruit
I made up a portion of mince and sausage at the weekend, used half for the cheeseburger pasta bake and turned the rest into meatballs to have with roasted veg today.
(The mixture is 100glean minced beef, one rosemary and red onion sausage, softened onion, garlic granules and whatever spice/seasonings you fancy, all mushed together)
SW:  one healthy extra A for a titchy bit of grated cheese in the mix plus on top of the whole dish

D:  tonkatsu pork, rice, broccoli; yogurt
This is from the PoN pink planner and it looks really nice although ratherr similar to yesterday's chicken with a different sauce!  I'm not sure I have pork in the freezer though.  If not, I will make it with chicken instead.
SW:  one and a half syns for one tbsp ketchup, one syn for one tbsp cornflour, half a healthy extra B for breadcrumbs.  Also half a syn for yogurt

Ex:  Groove

Summary:
one healthy extra A
half a healthy extra B
three syns

Monday 24 April 2023

Monday, 24-04-23

Morning, everyone.
It's the actual birthday and I have nothing special planned so what I'm doing is having some of my favourite meals (I have so many, it was hard to choose) but keeping them well within SW parameters.  It's easier to do than it sounds and, after yesterday's prosecco,-carb-and-fat-fest, absolutely necessary.

Will I lose this Friday?  I doubt it but I am aiming for a maintain.  I'm cutting down a bit to try and balance things out and might aim for a few SP day's, but only if I really want to - it's not going to be a penance week in any way.
Yesterday's photos:

Breakfast:  I had fruit on and off while doing other stuff.  No photos, sorry.

This is how my birthday tea table started off.  We' already started on the sparkly with some champagne my son brought round and it just 'descended' into a totally scrummy afternoon tea.  I didn't take any later photos, suffice it to say there was ice cream, scones, jame and cream and other cakes.
It was so, so off plan, it might have been the other side of the nutritional universe and I pretty much enjoyed every mouthful.

However, I am very, very glad to be getting back to the more wholesome, nutritionally sound healthy eating again today.  There may be sugar cravings but I can deal with them!
Today's plans:

B:  pancakes with fruit and yogurt
The usual; one of my absolute favourites!
SW:  half a healthy extra B for 20g wholemeal SR flour (not SW canon), half a syn for a Mullerlight

L:  a full English breakfast - er, I mean lunch; fruit
Just because . . .
bacon, egg, hm hash brown, Heck sausage, tomatoes and mushrooms
SW:  half a syn (I think but will check) for the sausage, one syn for brown sauce and the rest is SW free, one way or another

D:  chicken escalope, cheesy mushroom sauce, salad; yogurt
I will use my other half B for breadcrumbs and the sauce is just spray fried mushrooms with some soft cheese melted in.
I had planned in some chips but, right now, I am not feeling the love at all.
SW:  half a healthy extra A, half a healthy extra B and half a syn

Ex:  Circuits

Summary:
half a healthy extra A and I may add some grated cheese to the grated potato for the hash brown - why not?
one healthy extra B
one and a half syns, maybe a bit more, depending on the sausage.

Sunday 23 April 2023

Sunday, 23-04-23 - not a good Slimming World day

Morning, everyone.
Today is problematic as it's almost my birthday and I have the family round for an afternoon tea and we're having the works, including prosecco for those who want it!
So today's blog is not going to be Slimming World referenced, sorry.  Feel free not to read on if you're here for the SW plans or are likely to be triggered.

Back to normal tomorrow!
Yesterday's photos:
I love boiled eggs and these, with marmite toast, were lovely!

It was a fairly busy day yesterday and when I am busy, I tend not to feel that hungry so I skipped the plans to roast some veg and just had the skewer with tomatoes and peppers - perfick.
Afterwards, I had two easy peelers and an apple.

I loved the Pinch of Nom cheeseburger pasta bake last time I had it and this time I enjoyed it just as much.  I added a pinch of chilli flakes to the mix to give it a bit of a hum.
I had no room for anything else.

Today's plans:

B:  fruit and yogurt
Keeping it light!

Tea:
sandwiches (egg mayo, soft cheese and cucumber, cheese and tomato, ham and chutney)
vegetarian sausage mini-pasties, crisps
hm ice cream with strawberries and grapes
scones, jam and clotted cream
an assortment of cakes
tea, Schloer, prosecco
I'm not likely to be able to manage more than just a little bit of all this but I am likely to be out of calories and definitely over syns

Ex:  I am sure getting it all made, baked, iced and set up will keep me moving.

Saturday 22 April 2023

Saturday, 22-04-23

Morning, everyone.
I was very happy with a pound off yesterday which meant I got my Club 10 certificate (again!)

And I was super-chuffed that I managed to ward off temptation to scoff on naughty stuff that actually isn't nearly as nice as my emotions try to tell me they are.  Do you know what I mean?

Yesterday's photos:

Annoyingly, this waffle stuck and rather fell apart as I tried to remove it.  It still tasted great so not too many complaints!

I got my syns muddles.  I used my healthy extra B for lunch and breakfast was three syns, not six, because I used half amounts.
The toasties looked burnt but they aren't.  It was because I cooked the bacon in the same pan and it's all the lovely, salty gunk that stuck to the bread and gave it a great bacon flavour.

I had an orange and an apple straight afterwards.

A simple dinner, just plain salmon, hm chips and petit pois and absolutely scrummy.
I then had a Mullerlight to finish off the day and felt perfectly satisfied.  Such a nice feeling.

Today's plans:

B:   eggs, toast; fruit
Either poached on toast or boiled with toasty dippers, I haven't decided yet.  Either is really tasty.
SW:  one healthy extra B

L:  chicken skewer, roasted veg; fruit
I do really love roasted veg and it goes so well with the Iceland chicken skewers.
SW:  one and a half syns for the skewer

D:  Pinch of Nom cheeseburger pasta bake; yogurt
I made a slightly adapted version of this last week and it was lovely so I am having it again.
SW:  up to two healthy extra As and half a syn for the yogurt

Ex:  SET class at Shimmy Studio, gardening

Summary:
two healthy extra As
one healthy extra B
two syns

Friday 21 April 2023

Friday, 21-04-23

Morning, everyone.
Weigh day this morning and, as usual, I have no idea.  The week has gone well but you never know.  The body is an odd thing at times and doesn't always behave as expected.
Fingers crossed.

It isn't Jen leading group this morning - I think she is away for the weekend to celebrate her birthday but we have had the lady who is taking it before and she is very pleasant so that should be OK.
Yesterday's photos:

I'm sure I took some photos of breakfast but no, nothing on the camera - annoying.  I had some plain yogurt with strawberries and melon - really delicious.

This was lunch.  The last slice of quiche with salady bits.

Later on, I had a couple of titchy apples.

Dinner looks like nothing on earth, a real dog's dinner of a mess.  However, it tasted absolutely delicious and I'm not complaining.  I loved the drizzle that went over it - lemon zest and juice, grain mustard and some mashed garlic that has roasted with the veg.

It was also filling so no yogurt for afters.
Today's plans:

B:  waffle, fruit and yogurt
The usual Friday post group treat that is still firmly on plan!
SW:  one healthy extra B and I will use 0% Greek yogurt so that's free.

L:  bacon, cheese and onion toastie, salad; fruit
I haven't had a toastie all week - how remiss of me!  😉
SW:  up to two healthy extra As and six syns for the bread (because I've already had my B for today)

D:  salmon, chips and peas; yogurt
A couple of days ago, I planned chips in and then didn't fancy them so we will see how I feel later on.  I can always swap to roasted veg or salad, if I want.
SW:  half a syn for the yogurt and, if I make some tartare sauce, half a syn for some super light mayo

Ex:  no organised classes but I might do some gardening, weather permitting, or maybe go for a walk.

Summary:
two healthy extra As
one healthy extra B
seven syns

Thursday 20 April 2023

Thursday, 20-04-23

Morning, everyone.
I can't believe how quickly the week is going.  Thursday already and another weigh day tomorrow.

Yesterday's photos:

A nice, simple breakfast of beans on toast.  Lovely!

Lunch was enormous and I felt quite stuffed afterwards.  The rest of the chicken pie with some roasted mixed veg.

Later on, after personal training, I had two small apples.
By dinner time, I still wasn't particularly hungry and really didn't fancy the planned chips and peas.  Instead, I spray fried the gammon and had it with a simple salad and the honey mustard sauce I made.  It went really well with the salad as well as the gammon.

It was equal amounts of honey, Dijon mustard and mayo plus a splash of white wine vinegar and a bit of seasoning.  You could also add some garlic granules or purée - I didn't but will try that next time.
I put it into Nutracheck and it came out at three syns per portion (what you see on the plate).  High-ish but very, very tasty.  I might make some in a little jam jar and keep it in the fridge.

Dessert was a kvarg

Today's plans:

B:  fruit and yogurt
I'm a bit pushed for time so this is perfect.
SW:  syn free

L:  quiche, coleslaw and salad; fruit
The last of the quiche from the freezer.
SW:  one syn for salad cream and one A for cheese in the quiche

D:  zingy chicken tray bake; yogurt
This is a SW recipe which I will cut down to one portion.
Here's the recipe.  It looks quick and easy, doesn't it?
SW:  rhe recipe says half a syn per serving (for a bit of grain mustard) plus half a syn for the yogurt

Ex:  An online SET class today

Summary:
one healthy extra A
no healthy extra B
two syns

Wednesday 19 April 2023

Wednesday, 19-04-23

Morning, everyone.

Yesterday's photos:

Very nice and filling.  Quiche type things do freeze well.

I had a banana earlier in the day before Groove.

There is a burger in this bowl - it is under the sauce, onion and cheese slice and it was yummy.
I decided to put together my burger sauce recipe - equal amounts of sweet mustard ketchup, tomato sauce or puree and mayo for two and a half syns

Later on, I had an orange.

The pie was nice and the veg was a cheat really - a bag of microwavable vegetables so dead easy.
I finished off the day with a yogurt.
Today's plans:

B:  beans on toast
Because . . . why not?  :-)  And I have half a can of beans left over from yesterday.
SW:  one healthy extra B and half a syn for bbq sauce

L:  chicken pie leftovers, roasted veg
Got to love leftovers - so very easy.
SW:  half a syn for the chicken/sauce

D:  gammon, chips and peas; yogurt
Yummy!   This is one of the slices I cut from the Be Good To Yourself gammon I bought last weekend.  Four lovely slices, not that bit but fine for me, and enough left to boil as a little joint.
SW:  one and a half syns for some chutney and half a syn for yogurt

Ex: I was hoping to have two classes today - a small group circuits in place of the one I missed on Monday and personal training later on.  Then I realised I have a Teams meeting in the morning.  Oh, well, it was a nice thought.

Summary:
no healthy extra As
one healthy extra B
three syns
