Good morning!
Yesterday was a delicious day!
Breakfast was all I expected it to be and, having had a pretty large meal (toast, fruit and an 'English plate'), I can now be more selective.
Lunch was the noodle thing and it was actually pretty nice.
Dinner was really lovely. I notice that, unlike pubs and that sort of eating place, portions are much smaller but, far from being stingy, they are just right. I had melon, followed by lasagne and a cheese platter to finish off and it was just right although there was quite a lot of cheese as you can see in the one photo I remembered to take, much more to my liking that a lot of crackers. I left the table feeling satisfied but not stuffed.
I think that, if I am learning anything, it is that portion control is very important and when I get home I will be watching out for this. It's just too easy to have that little bit more (even cheese). . .
To slightly balance the food, I had a good swim and a good walk. It won't totally compensate but it will reduce the damage slightly.
Today's lunch will be vegetable laksa rice noodles and a couple of hi fi bars. I'm booked for a line dance workshop, not that I've ever done line dancing in my entire life but one has to start somewhere so fingers crossed!
If you have read my other blog, you will know that I've booked a couple more days of this trauma. What a sacrifice!
My downfall was portion control until I bought smaller plates. Dessert is now eaten from tiny old fashioned glass bowls. It's just a little taste of something lovely to finish off a meal.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds lovely. I love those old fashioned dessert dishes. xx
DeleteIt's all lovely, that's the problem! :-)
