This week's nearly all Slimming World Haul from M&S and Aldi

It was hard today.  By that, I mean that there was so much Christmas stuff out on the shelves  puddings, cakes, biscuits, chocolates, drinks . . . oh, my word, when you think that Christmas is still two and a half months away!

I was sorely tempted by some mince pie mulled wine (or it might have been Christmas Pudding mulled wine, I forget) but I reminded myself that the chance of it remaining unopened before Christmas is in minus figures (unopened by the weekend, actually) and anyway, I have a recipe I want to try for Mince Pie (or Christmas pudding) flavoured gin!
However, I did note that the M&S clementine gin now has clementine tonic to go with it.  Fingers crossed there's still some by the middle of December.  :-)

Back to reality - my haul.

Salad and veg
Just the usual stuff.  There were some interesting looking squashes but I resisted.  I almost got tomatoes but I still have some and, amazingly, am still picking a few every three days or so.  So I got wonky peppers - great value - from Aldi and the rest in from M&S.
That'll all get used up through the coming week apart from the squash.
Fruit.
Just the usual this week apart from a melon as they looked very nice.  I won't be cutting it for a few weeks.
Meat/chicken
Not all this is for now.  The sausages and bacon are for the pigs in blankets for Christmas, not made up and open freezing so they don't stick together.
The CoU was reduced and the chicken sizzlers are just chicken breast steaks, like turkey steaks, and I use them quite a lot, a much more sensible size than a full breast and better for lots of recipes.  I individually wrap them and then freeze them.
All this was from M&S
Odds and ends.
I saw the titchy little red pepper thingies and thought ooooh, nice.  They will brighten up a variety of dishes.
The boxes at the back contain coffee bags.

I didn't need any other dairy this week.

I got other things too - a couple of birthday gifts, some cans of fizzy, eggs, stuff like that.

  1. I do like M&S Food Hall, and Aldi come to that, they both have things that the main supermarkets don't have. Are those little sweety peppers from M&S? xx

    1. No, Aldi, close to the mayo and dressings. I know what you mean, I do enjoy seeing what different things they have in.
      xx
